To initiate the first celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month at Winnetonka, a spirit week will be held from Sept. 16 to Sept. 20.

Monday: Dress up as an Hispanic influencer, such as an activist, athlete, artist, politician or writer.

Tuesday: Vaquero/Ranchero Day. Dress up as a cowboy or rancher.

Thursday: Wear a futbol (soccer) or basebol (baseball) jersey.

Friday: LantinXs in action, wear red.

An all-student pep assembly is set for Sept. 20 to introduce this new tradition to the Winnetonka community. A second spirit week will take place from Oct. 15 to Oct. 18, and to wrap up the month, students can participate in a culture fair during club time on Oct. 18. Students will be selling Mexican candy throughout the month to support efforts to provide supplies and legal aid to children in U.S. detention centers. National Hispanic Heritage Month is held from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.

All events were planned by the Spanish Club and RISE.

Events will be updated as information is released.
