Foods students craft specialty pizza for competition

On March 29, Foods I teacher Nicole Odell hosted the annual pizza wars competition. Students were divided into groups and expected to handcraft a pizza within the class period. After cooking the pizza, three individuals, students and staff, judged the pizza based on taste and presentation. After tasting all the pizzas, the judges chose a winner: the Mexican-style pizza.

Freshman Melissa Clark gathers various spices for her group’s ‘meat lovers’ pizza. The pizza will host an array of meats including bacon, pepperoni and sausage. “I’m kind of confident that we will win,” Clark said. “My group is not the best at cooking, but we are definitely going to try.”
