Winnetonka Avid Juniors got the opportunity to tour the University of Kansas on nov 23. Avid is a resource that students can use to help them with collage. The purpose of the collage trip was to give students an option of where they could go. It was a 45-minute drive to KU. It was a huge campus. As we walked into the school, we were immediately welcomed. We all got to look around the front part of the school before we had a presentation about enrollment, the data of students living on campus, and living spaces. Then we had 3 student ambassadors come in, and we got to ask questions about tuition, studying abroad, and all the programs they have. A lot of students had some ideas about it as far as if it were a school for them, or not. junior Timothy Collins “I don’t think KU is right for me because I don’t want to be too close to Kansas City, but I had such a good experience, and if I were looking for something closer, I definitely would explore KU,” Collins said. Adding to that, junior Kaitlyn Milligan said, “It was a very good experience for me. My tour guide had dance in common, so it was nice to be with someone I had something in common with, and I learned a lot about the community KU has,” Miligan said. Students found a lot of great experiences touring KU. They were all very welcoming, and there are so many opportunities you can find at KU. We went to lunch and left around 1:25. To find Information on the university, You can always look on their website to find more. Avid will continue on with working on gpa, and next semester they will go on another college visit.
