James Palmer
By Emily Noyes

James Palmer, junior, is a staff writer for the Griffin Rites. Although this is his first year on staff, Palmer hopes to win awards at competition.

“I want to write a story that puts me in the limelight; something everyone will know me for,” Palmer said.

Palmer joined the newspaper staff because he has a passion for writing and feels he has a talent for it. In his free time, he enjoys reading and roller derby.

Palmer’s mother has a passion for roller derby, but due to her diagnosis with Crohn’s disease, she is no longer able to enjoy her hobby. Palmer feels it’s his duty to carry on with his mother’s passion.

Still unsure of what career path to follow, Palmer participates in Northland Career Center for culinary arts. However, Palmer is sure of the fact that he wants to get the most out of life in and out of school.

“Wherever my enjoyment and desires take me, that’s where I want to go,” Palmer said.
