From kids posing for pictures to staff cheerfully saying, “Happy Holidays,” the holiday celebration at Union Station invites visitors to immerse themselves in a celebration of the holiday season and feel the joy it brings.
Colorful ornaments the size of basketballs decorate large Christmas trees throughout the Grand Hall. Long garlands twist around the railings. Twinkling lights help set to the holiday atmosphere. Holiday decorations transform every inch of this iconic building into a wintry scene.
On the main level, the”Holiday Reflections” experience fills the space with mechanical displays that bring Santa’s workshop to life, VR sleigh rides for a journey to save Christmas and the Mini Holiday Express Train for little ones to ride and rock around the Christmas Tree.
Deep within Union Station, a new “Disney 100” exhibit celebrates the history of Disney. As visitors wander through the maze of displays, nostalgia and childhood memories come to life. This exhibit features behind-the-scenes looks at the creation of animations from beloved classics, along with original items from live-action movies and shows. Visitors can even pose for picture with a giant wizard Mickey. Watch out, though. Mickey just might cast a spell. Visit this exhibit before it leaves Union Station on January 5; cost is $25 per person.
In addition to holiday attractions and special exhibits, visitors can enjoy the night sky with a trip to the planetarium at Science City, check out one of the restaurants or shop until they drop.
Whether reliving childhood memories or creating new ones, Union Station keeps the holiday spirit alive.
