Sophomore Cara Smith cuts out her pattern to prepare to sew together fabric.  Students take real-world skills out of clothing and fashion class by learning how to hand stitch, use a sewing machine, and recognize different textile fabrics.

“My favorite part is being able to take home my project and wear it and also to praise myself on my work,” Smith said.
