Freshmen Rayonna Madget and Stefani Maricic work together under a time limit to answer questions about science exhibits on Jan. 27. Student scientists from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area gathered at North Kansas City High School to participate in Science Olympiad. They performed labs and experiments to learn more about different branches of science such as herpetology, thermodynamics and ecology.

“Our first Science Olympiad was nerve wracking,” Madget said. “We were paranoid because all of the projects were last minute.”
