Sophomores Olivia Dowell and Sophia Wathen work together to make biscuits in family and consumer science teacher Shelby Moore’s foods class. The students measured out butter and dumped it in, then they mixed it all together with the wooden spoon. The two students scraped it into the bowl with the flour and other ingredients. After it was baked, students sat at the tables and ate what they had made. Later in the hour, they learned all the components that come with cooking food.

“It was a lot of fun to learn about life skills in cooking that would help me in the future,” Dowell said.
