Completing her sculpture for AP Studio Art, senior Marissa Foster works on the finishing touches using a hot glue gun on Feb. 23. For her concentration portfolio in AP Studio Art, Foster must complete 12 pieces of artwork with one main theme. The sculpture in the picture is called “Breaking Free” and is one of 12 pieces of art that revolve of around the theme that Foster created called “trapped verses free”.

“I’ve lived my whole life being very different, always being the odd one out and always being expected to conform to other people’s expectations,” Foster said. “I just want to kind of embody that feeling of fighting the norms.”
