Senior Zoe Vandooren, junior Danielle Dodd and sophomore Donthaevius Brodie concentrate intensely as they think of the answer to the question at the scholar bowl competition at Kearney High School on Feb. 8. The varsity and JV scholar bowl team both competed in the Quads, which is a series of competitions over four weeks and determines which schools continue to state. Both teams walked away from their visit to Kearney with 2 out of 3 rounds in their pocket.

“Scholar bowl has made me a more studious person,” Dodd said. “I’ve always been a pretty big nerd but now when I see something I think more about it and try to keep it in my brain so it’s knowledge I can access for my team.”
