Game Two of the World Series


Inning 1

The New York Mets got sent down in order by pitcher, Johnny Cueto. Kansas City could not do anything as Jacob deGrom sent the Royals down in order as well.


Inning 2

Royal’s pitcher Cueto allowed a hit, but after a double play to end the inning the hit did not result anything. deGrom sent the Royals down in order to retire six straight Royals.


Inning 3

Cueto pitched another good inning putting the Mets down one, two, three. After a Alex Gordon walk with one out the Royals had their first base runner that prevailed to nothing a strikeout and a fly out.


Inning 4

After two consecutive walks by Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murphy the Mets had two on with zero outs. After a single by Lucas Duda that drove in Murphy the Mets had the first lead of the game. With the Royals getting two runners in scoring position on first and third and a walk by Mike Moustakas. The bases were loaded, but Salvador Pérez grounded out ending the inning.

Inning 5

Cueto retired three straight, keeping New York with a one run lead. Kansas City started out with two runners on after a walk and single. Alcides Escobar singled scoring Gordon. Ben Zobrist then grounded out, but advanced Alex Ríos to third and Escobar to second. Eric Hosmer singled to scoring both Ríos and Escobar. Kendrys Morales singled advancing Hosmer to third with two outs. Mike Moustakas singled scoring Hosmer and advancing Morales to third. Pérez then grounded out ending the inning.

Inning 6

Cueto sent the Mets down in order again. Making that six straight Mets batters retired. Kansas City also got sent down in order as the Mets kept the score four to one.

The Mets still could not figure out Cueto after he put them down one, two, three to keep the Royals lead. After a Lorenzo Cain walk, the Royals had a runner on, but after two consecutive outs, it went to no prevail, stranding Cain at first.

Inning 8

New York was still struggling with Cueto. Cueto sent the Mets down in order again making it nine straight Mets players out in a row. Kansas City got two runners in scoring position after a Salvador Pérez double, moving Moustakas to third. Gordon doubled scoring Moustakas and moving Pérez to third. Ríos hit a sacrifice fly scoring Pérez and moving Gordon to third. Escobar tripled, scoring Gordon and making the score seven to one.

7-1 Kansas City

Inning 9

Kansas City kept Cueto in to finish the game. Murphy walked putting a possible run on base with two outs. After a fly out by Yoenis Céspedes, the game was over.
