Unique pumpkin options a short drive away

Autumn is known for its changing leaves, pumpkin spice lattes and sweaters. But pumpkin patches are a favorite among fall fanatics.

The Weston Red Barn Farm is located on Wilkerson Road in Weston, MO.

Fresh barbeque fills the air the moment visitors arrive. The quality of the food shows the passion that the caterers have for cooking. Something unique to them is their crisp apple slush.

Impeccable self control is required to brave consuming the popular kettle corn. With one taste, it becomes addictive and difficult to put the bag down. With relatively low prices, the food may hurt a persons figure, but not their wallet.

This pumpkin patch has a vast variety of pumpkins; from classic orange to a peculiar type called Cinderella.

Besides picking pumpkins, families can also enjoy many family friendly activities, such as corn mazes, pony rides and tractor hayrides. All of these activities are under five dollars.

Weston Red Barn Farm has a homey atmosphere. All the employees seem welcoming and eager to help.

It is usually busy on the weekends because there is a high customer return rate.

There is not a set price for each pumpkin, they estimate for each size relative to other pumpkins. It may seem strange but the employees avoid charging more than the pumpkin is worth. Four medium sized pumpkins cost about $30.

The country store is filled with knick knacks and other assorted items. The products are high quality and very tempting to buy.

The drive to Weston is pretty far but once there, the long drive becomes worth the while.

No matter how many pumpkin spice lattes are consumed, autumn is not the same without a visit to a pumpkin patch.

Overall Weston Red Barn Farm deserves a B rating.
